Scholarships are awarded by the Great Lakes Ice Cream & Fast Food Association, of which Trailside Treats is a member and the owner (Kelly Rice) is on the Board of Directors.
Winners are selected by a committee based on grades, standardized test scores, community involvement, volunteerism, essay and employer and community member recommendation.
